Ajman Free Zone Cost

From AED 5,565 — the lowest-cost free-zone licence in the UAE.

A zero-visa Ajman Free Zone licence costs AED 5,565 in government fees, and AED 13,141 with your first residence visa included. That is less than half the price of a comparable Dubai licence. This page shows what that buys, what it does not, and when paying more elsewhere is the better decision.

In brief: An Ajman Free Zone licence costs AED 5,565 in government fees with no visas, or AED 13,141 including one residence visa with entry permit, medical and Emirates ID. Two visas cost AED 17,181 and three cost AED 23,242. That makes Ajman the cheapest free zone in the UAE — around AED 6,900 less than a comparable Meydan or IFZA licence in Dubai. Avyanco's professional fee is quoted separately. The trade-off is location and prestige rather than capability: an Ajman company still gets 100% foreign ownership, UAE residence visas and a corporate bank account, but the licence does not say Dubai, which matters to some clients and some banks.

What actually moves the price

Two companies registered on the same day can differ by more than AED 10,000. These are the factors that decide where you land in the range.

Number of visas

The single biggest factor here. The licence itself is AED 5,565; the first visa more than doubles it. Decide your visa count before comparing zones, because zero-visa and three-visa rankings are not the same ranking.

Activity type

Trading, professional and e-commerce licences sit at the standard rate. Industrial activities and anything needing external approval cost more and can take longer.

Facility

The bundled flexi-desk covers most consultancies and traders. A physical office or warehouse is a separate lease and lifts both cost and visa quota.

Renewal, not just setup

Ajman is cheap to enter and stays cheap to renew, which is a large part of why it is worth considering. Some zones with low entry pricing recover it at renewal — always compare year two.

Where your customers are

This is the cost driver nobody puts in a table. A free-zone company cannot invoice UAE businesses onshore without a distributor or a mainland branch. If your customers are UAE companies, the cheap licence may be the expensive choice.

How long it takes

  1. 1

    Day 1 — Activity & package

We confirm the activity, the visa count and whether the flexi-desk is sufficient for your quota.

  4. 4

    Day 4–7 — Establishment card

Immigration card issued so the company can sponsor residence visas.

  5. 5

    Week 2–3 — Visas

Entry permit, status change, medical and Emirates ID for each person.

  6. 6

After licensing — Bank & compliance

Corporate account opening, corporate tax registration and bookkeeping set up.

Cost FAQs

How much does an Ajman Free Zone licence cost?

AED 5,565 in government fees for a zero-visa licence, or AED 13,141 including one residence visa with entry permit, medical and Emirates ID. Two visas cost AED 17,181 and three cost AED 23,242. Avyanco's professional fee is quoted separately.

Is Ajman the cheapest free zone in the UAE?

On a zero-visa licence, yes — AED 5,565 is the lowest mainstream free-zone cost in the UAE. RAKEZ is close at AED 6,010 and Sharjah's SHAMS and SPC at AED 6,875. Once you add visas the ranking shifts: RAKEZ is cheaper than Ajman with one visa (AED 12,010 against AED 13,141), so compare at the visa count you actually need.

Why is Ajman so much cheaper than Dubai?

You are paying for the emirate, not for a lesser company. An Ajman licence gives the same 100% foreign ownership, the same residence visas and the same access to UAE banking as a Dubai free-zone licence. What it does not give is a Dubai address, which carries weight with some clients, some landlords and occasionally some banks.

Can an Ajman company do business in Dubai?

It can serve clients across the UAE and internationally, but like any free-zone company it cannot trade directly onshore without a local distributor or a mainland branch. Consulting, e-commerce and international trade are unaffected; retail and UAE-government contracting are not.

Can I open a UAE bank account with an Ajman licence?

Yes. Ajman Free Zone was established in 1988, and that 35-year track record helps in bank KYC — banks look at the zone's history and your business substance, not just the emirate. Expect the same document requirements and timelines as any other free-zone company.

Does the price include Avyanco's fee?

No. Every figure here is government cost paid to Ajman Free Zone Authority. Our professional fee is quoted separately and transparently, so you always see which part is government and which is us.

What does it cost to renew?

Renewal is cheaper than first-year setup because the one-off registration and establishment-card costs are not repeated — the licence and any visas renew on their own cycles. Ajman is competitive on renewal as well as setup, which is a large part of its appeal. The exact figure is in the fact sheet.

How many visas can I get on an Ajman licence?

The standard packages run to three visas on a bundled flexi-desk. More requires a physical office, where the quota scales with the space you hold. Tell us your hiring plans up front — moving package tier later costs more than starting on the right one.

How long does setup take?

Typically about a week from a complete document set to a licence in hand, which makes Ajman one of the faster UAE zones. Residence visas run after the licence and establishment card are issued, usually adding a further one to two weeks per person.

Do I need to visit the UAE?

Incorporation can be completed remotely. You will need to enter the UAE for medical testing and Emirates ID biometrics if you take a residence visa, and some banks require an in-person meeting to open the account.

Does an Ajman company pay corporate tax?

UAE Corporate Tax applies at 0% up to AED 375,000 of taxable income and 9% above it. A qualifying free-zone person can access 0% on qualifying income, subject to strict substance and activity conditions — it is not automatic because you are in a free zone. VAT registration becomes mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies.

Should I choose Ajman or pay more for Dubai?

Choose Ajman if you are cost-sensitive, your clients are international or outside the UAE, and the address on the licence is not part of how you sell. Pay for Dubai if your clients are Dubai-based and expect it, if you need a specific zone's ecosystem such as DMCC for commodities, or if you will want a physical Dubai presence later. We will tell you honestly which applies to you.

Pricing note. Figures on this page are indicative government costs as at July 2026, published so you can budget realistically. They are set by the relevant UAE authorities, vary by activity, legal form, visa mix and office type, and change over time. They exclude Avyanco’s professional service fee, office rent and any external-approval charges. This is general guidance, not a quotation — confirm your specific position with us before acting.
