What a late or wrong return costs
The first late return carries a fixed administrative penalty, and a repeat within 24 months doubles it. Late payment is charged on the outstanding tax.
VAT return filing is a detailed compliance task, and mistakes can lead to penalties. Whether you are a free zone or mainland business, Avyanco prepares your VAT 201, checks every figure and files it on EmaraTax so you stay on the right side of the Federal Tax Authority.
Every VAT registered business files for every assigned tax period. These are the businesses that must file, and the mistakes we correct before they reach the FTA.
As Federal Tax Authority regulations evolve, a mistake in a return can mean penalties or further compliance scrutiny. Avyanco is an experienced VAT consultancy and prepares, checks and files your returns end to end.
We reconcile your sales, purchases and tax balances before filing, then submit your VAT 201 on EmaraTax and give you the payment instructions. If you are not yet registered, we also handle the registration.

From 14 April 2026 this replaced an immediate 2% penalty plus 4% a month, capped at 300%.

We check transactions and import records and decide the treatment from the nature of the supply, the VAT rules and the essential documents.
The 2026 changes need attention to input tax recovery and the checks businesses should run on suppliers and transactions. We review the due diligence requirements and evidence before eligible input tax is included.
Where required, we check how supplies should be allocated across the relevant emirates. This helps spot reporting inconsistencies when a business operates from several locations.
We reconcile the recoverable input tax and the output tax with your accounting records. Unexplained differences are clarified before submission, and we recommend improvements to your records.
